AgriFutures Australia is currently recruiting for Advisory Panel members across a number of our levied industries.

Advisory Panel members are required to work closely with AgriFutures and industry organisations. Functions of the Advisory Panel include:

  • Advising on industry requirements for investment through the development and monitoring of research, development and extension (RD&E) plans.
  • Providing recommendations to AgriFutures on suitable RD&E opportunities and activities to address industry issues.
  • Providing feedback and investment advice on RD&E proposals to ensure alignment with RD&E plans.
  • Advising and assisting in the dissemination, adoption and commercialisation of RD&E activities.

Positions are available on Advisory Panels for the Honey Bee & Pollination ProgramThoroughbred Horses ProgramGinger Program and Chicken Meat Program.

Honey Bee & Pollination Program

The Honey Bee & Pollination Advisory Panel has one available position for a commercial honey producer or someone with extensive skills in honey production. Significant governance and financial management skills will be highly regarded, however they are not mandatory. Appointment of the successful Advisory Panel applicant will commence immediately.

Thoroughbred Horses Program

The Thoroughbred Horses Advisory Panel has one available position for a thoroughbred breeder or someone with extensive skills in thoroughbred breeding. Substantial industry connections are imperative for this role as you will be required to investigate industry issues and research priorities. Geographical diversity is a requirement of this position, and we are particularly interested in applicants based in Victoria. Significant governance and financial management are highly regarded, however they are not mandatory. Appointment of successful Advisory Panel applicants will be prior to June 2024.

Ginger Program

The Ginger Advisory Panel has three available positions for ginger growers with small to medium production areas, researchers with knowledge of horticultural crops (may be outside the ginger industry), people with experience assessing research proposals, and Agronomists, preferably with experience in ginger or other root vegetables and soil science, to provide a holistic understanding of the ginger growing region and contribute to discussions on key issues affecting the industry. Appointment of successful Advisory Panel applicants will be staggered prior to June 2024.

Chicken Meat Program

The Chicken Meat Advisory Panel has two available positions for a grower representative and a livestock research specialist. Appointment of successful Advisory Panel applicants will commence immediately.
