Shearing workshop

Do you want to learn how to shear an Angora goat? Join us for an introductory two-day shearing workshop.

Delivered by David Lillis and Nick Gorrie, this training is aimed at current mohair producers and shearers wishing to improve their Angora Goat shearing skills or sheep shearers who are interested in adding Angoras to their skill set.

You will learn:

  • Catch & drag techniques
  • Animal holding skills, hand & foot placement
  • Handpiece maintenance
  • Comb selection
  • Sharpening techniques (Grinding)
  • Fleece handling & care
  • Shearing board management

Date: Saturday 14 June and Sunday 15 June 2025
