AgriFutures opens Applications for 2026 Learning and Development Opportunities
Are you ready to accelerate your leadership journey? AgriFutures Australia is now accepting applications for its 2026 Learning and Development Opportunities designed to empower rural leaders to shape the future of Australian agriculture.
The annual initiative offers participants a chance to build practical leadership capability, governance confidence, industry networks, and strategic decision-making skills. This year, AgriFutures has streamlined the application process, allowing applicants to apply for multiple programs in one form and choose between written or video submissions.
Applications are open to anyone involved in an AgriFutures Levied or Emerging Industry, Alumni of the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award and professionals working in agrifood tech. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to developing their skills and contributing to the growth and strength of Australia’s rural industries.
The 2026 programs on offer include:
• Australian Institute of Company Directors – Foundations of Directorship
A practical introduction to governance, financial literacy, and risk, designed for people entering board roles or seeking to understand decision-making at the organisational level. Participants gain essential tools for contributing effectively in governance environments.
• Australian Institute of Company Directors – Company Directors Course
Recognised nationally as a gold-standard governance program, the Company Directors Course builds deep knowledge in director responsibilities, strategy, finance, and boardroom performance. It is suited to emerging and experienced directors ready to elevate their influence and capability.
• Australian Rural Leadership Foundation – Agribusiness Leadership Program
A targeted program for people working across the agribusiness supply chain, offering experiential learning in leadership, negotiation, communication, and team performance. Participants explore personal leadership styles while building strong networks across industries.
• Australian Rural Leadership Foundation – TRAIL Emerging Leaders Program
An immersive, multi-day experience for early-career professionals ready to take their first leadership steps. TRAIL focuses on self-awareness, collaboration, resilience, and practical leadership tools through hands-on, challenge-based learning. (Please note TRAIL 2026 will run 17-23 March 2026 (plus travel)).
• Marcus Oldham – Rural Leadership Program
A highly regarded course for rural professionals seeking to build confidence, strategic thinking, and industry influence. The program brings together participants from across agriculture to explore leadership behaviours, communication, and effective decision-making.
Applications are open to people working in or alongside Australia’s rural industries who are ready to invest in their personal and professional growth. Don’t miss this chance to invest in your leadership journey and contribute to the future of rural industries.
