Provide your feedback on the draft AgriFutures Chicken Meat Program RD&E Plan (2022-2027)

AgriFutures Chicken Meat Program is calling on industry members to provide feedback on the draft Chicken Meat RD&E Plan (2022-2027). 

The current AgriFutures Chicken Meat RD&E Plan is coming to an end with a new draft plan now available for industry consultation. The draft plan outlines the focus areas for future investment in RD&E activities over the next five-year period for the AgriFutures Chicken Meat Program.   

Research Manager for AgriFutures Chicken Meat Program, Annie Lane explained that feedback on the draft plan will ensure the priorities are shaped to address the current and emerging demands facing the chicken meat industry.  

“We want to ensure that industry stakeholders are at the centre of what we do which makes consultation and receiving feedback on the draft plan an important part of developing a new RD&E plan,” said Annie Lane  

Industry members are invited to review and provide feedback on the priorities and objectives outlined in the Chicken Meat RD&E Plan (2022-2027).

About the draft plan  

This RD&E Plan (2022-2027) has been developed to address the issues and opportunities facing the industry and deliver the overarching vision of the Chicken Meat Program to grow the long-term prosperity of the Australian chicken meat industry.  

The Chicken Meat RD&E Plan (2022-2027) focuses on five priorities:  

  1. Improving environmental and sustainability outcomes  
  2. Enhancing chicken biosecurity, health, and welfare  
  3. Contributing to efficient and secure chicken production systems  
  4. Ensuring food safety of Australian chicken meat 
  5. Building people capability and a diverse and sustainable workforce.
