I am lucky enough to be a part of a long-standing sheep and wheat farming family in the great south of Western Australia. However, I grew up in Perth city which has given me an interesting perspective on both urban and rural life. On completion of my schooling at Sacred Heart College in Sorrento, I knew I wanted to take my knack for science and combine it with my passion for agriculture, which naturally led me to begin my Bachelor of Science, majoring in Agricultural Science at Curtin University.
I am extremely grateful to have been awarded the Horizon Scholarship and eagerly await what the next two years will bring. Having the chance to network with industry professionals from all over Australia and gain further workplace experience through placements with leading companies, are opportunities I know will propel me into a great career in Ag! I would especially like to thank my sponsor the Mt Burdett Foundation, who are continually funding people and projects to ensure the betterment of rural and regional WA. In the future, I hope to give back to the Western Australian farming community by growing my knowledge and skillset to ensure the continued success of our agricultural industry for future generations.
