I grew up in Brisbane with a love for animals, especially horses. Whilst at school, I spent as much time as possible with my horse and tried to learn as much as I could about all things equine. After high school, I moved west to Gatton to begin my Bachelor of Veterinary Science.
I have always been passionate about caring for performance horses. Since commencing my veterinary studies, I have also discovered that I am very interested in reproduction and the best ways to optimise reproductive performance and disease control. I would love to work in a mixed veterinary practice initially and then pursue my passions, whether it be in equine medicine, reproduction or controlling emerging disease threats.
I am incredibly honoured to have been awarded a Horizon Scholarship. The industry work placement is an amazing opportunity to experience working with elite equine athletes and learn the ins and outs of equine reproduction. I’m also really looking forward to networking with other scholars and industry professionals and excited to take the next steps in developing my career opportunities.
I am thrilled to be working with the AgriFutures Thoroughbred Horses Program and for the opportunities to meet and learn from some of the top Thoroughbred industry professionals.
