Growing up living in both Western Sydney and the Southern Tablelands, I had the opportunity to experience life in the country and the inner city. Having spent most weekends working on the family farm, I would go into grocery stores and fashion retailers with a greater appreciation for the hard work of farmers in Australia who produce the food and textiles so many take for granted.

These experiences have led me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science at the University of Sydney where I major in Resource Economics. I hope that by understanding the future for Australian agricultural goods, I can help local farmers stay at the forefront of global markets and reap the rewards of being some of the highest quality producers anywhere in the world.

I am extremely grateful to AgriFutures and Riverine Plains for giving me the opportunity to participate in the Horizon scholars program and look forward to taking the next step in my career while continuing to learn about the markets and supply chains that play a crucial role in Australian agriculture. I’m excited to meet and work alongside industry professionals and other passionate students and I look forward to forging connections with all the amazing people working in this industry.
