My name is Tirza Winarta, and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Food and Agribusiness) at the University of Sydney. I grew up in Sydney, and even though I didn’t come from a farming background, my passion for agriculture was sparked by my high school food technology teacher. I have always been interested in the emerging agricultural technologies that have the potential to reduce environmental impacts, while also delivering high-quality and nutritional products. Therefore, after finishing my degree, I hope to contribute to these technologies in the hopes to improve environmental outcomes.
I am so grateful for being awarded the Horizon Scholarship and am most looking forward to the industry events where I can network and build relationships with fellow Scholars who have a shared passion and commitment to agriculture.
