This report reviews innovation trends and considers cross-industry innovations that could be adapted or applied to improve the productivity and competitiveness of Australian rural industries. Australian rural industries have a long-history of innovation and strong productivity growth. Acknowledging that opportunities for innovation could lie within and beyond the sector, this research conducts a broad innovation scan to identify key innovations from across the economy with a promising value-proposition for the rural sector.
