Earthworm production systems involving waste management are evolving and are in the growth phase where emphasis is upon marketing, inoculum and vermicast. As the industry matures there will be a need to change the marketing emphasis from “the worm as an inoculum” to “the worm as a value-added marketable product”.
This project aimed to deliver technologies to underpin the development of an earthworm industry which has a range of products including ‘value-added’ worm meal products.
