This RIRDC report provides estimates of the responsiveness of the quantity of food demanded to changes in food prices in Australia. The parameters reported measure longer run responsiveness at the household level and represent the first integrated set of food demand elasticities based on a highly disaggregated food demand system published in Australia.
The findings from this report will be of strategic significance to all those involved in the management and analysis of the Australian food and agricultural sectors including industry analysts, R&D bodies and policy analysts.
