DownloadThis research provides insights to the reasons for the apparent underutilisation by farmers of the collective bargaining provisions of the competition law, and what if anything should and could be done about it. It analyses economic, socio-cultural, structural and legal factors that impact on the uptake of collective bargaining opportunities across a wide range of food products. The research formulates conclusions about how, in some circumstances, farmers can be informed and supported to make better use of these provisions to enhance profitability.
