Although the Australian subtropical coffee industry has established its potential to produce a unique high quality, ‘cool climate’ coffee suited to both the plunger and espresso market, the industry has lacked cohesion and consistency in product quality.
This RIRDC report details the development of an Industry Strategic Plan for the Australian Subtropical Coffee Industry from a ‘Setting Directions’ skills based workshop with the cooperation of the executive of the Australian Subtropical Coffee Association and the coffee industry.The report describes the background to the need for a strategic plan, how the workshop was organised and conducted and the process post workshop to produce the final plan and summary document.
