The integrity of the SunRice Tissue Testing Service is dependent on rugged, accurate calibrations, continuously upgraded to account for new varieties and seasonal factors. Since its development in the late 1980’s NIR analysis for nitrogen, starch and other nutrients in rice shoots has become an established requirement for many growers’ crop management as well as an integral part of physiological and agronomical studies in rice. Maintenance of the NIR calibrations for the determination of nitrogen, starch, phosphorus, potassium, sulphur, moisture, zinc, growth stage and days after sowing for all the current and possible future rice varieties is essential.
