While it is well recognised in the broader business community that business operators need to be supported and nurtured, this recognition has had limited application to women in business in rural and remote Australia. This report identifies ways of supporting female business operators and draws on the findings of a national survey, a series of focus groups and a number of one-to-one interviews to highlight the aspirations and support needs of women running businesses in rural and remote Australia. It provides information to assist women in well-targeted and effective ways. 2004, 64gs, Pub. No. 04/130, $21
