Summary

This project will undertake a global scan of carbon taxes being implement – including the EU Carbon Tax at Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) – and investigate what the potential effects will be on 10 of AgriFutures Australia’s Levied, New and Emerging Industries to understand what the economic impact might be.  It will also provide an international comparison on policy and impacts including New Zealand and France.

Objective Summary

  • Provide a clear overview of any planned carbon tax programs that are being implemented globally that will have a direct or indirect impact on Australian agriculture and producers  

  • Capture and communicate the implications that various carbon tax programs will have on Australian agriculture and producers
