Summary

This research seeks to understand if current estimates properly reflect the true value agriculture contributes to Australia’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product). It will expand traditional economic analysis to include the economic contribution of the entire agricultural supply chain, including service industries, infrastructure development, educational institutions and specialised sectors. This holistic view of agriculture’s economic impact will inform policy and investment decisions that reflect the industry’s interdependencies, benefits and opportunities.
