Sustainability is more than a buzz word.

In today’s podcast we hear about a new utopia that is unfolding on the edge of the desert in South Australia’s Port Augusta.

Sundrop Farms is a leading horticultural player in Australia producing high-value fruit using renewable resources.

As you will hear, Australia’s largest solar-powered tomato greenhouse is reducing the use of fossil fuels by using technology that tracks the sun.

To reduce their reliance on fresh water, the business pumps sea water from the Spencer Gulf and desalinates it to make fresh water and to generate electricity.

Sundrop Farms CEO Steve Marafiote explains more about the workings of concentrated solar power technology.
