The AgriFutures Chicken Meat Program’s extension monthly webinar series is designed to connect researchers with all areas of industry to share the outcomes and benefits of their research.

The AgriFutures Chicken Meat Program is dedicated to investing in research, development, and extension (RD&E) that supports the sustainability, productivity, and overall viability of the Australian chicken meat industry. The Program’s investments span five key priority areas, all designed to benefit the industry and tackle its most pressing challenges and opportunities.

To share valuable insights and research outcomes from the Program’s portfolio of research, the AgriFutures Chicken Meat Program team recently launched a webinar series featuring expert presentations, in-depth discussions and interactive Q&A sessions on key topics of interest. Recent sessions have covered themes such as emergency disease preparedness, avian influenza, broiler nutrition, litter management for warmer seasons and the recently launched Industry Sustainability Framework.

In September this year, the webinar on the Industry Sustainability Framework featured an engaging Q&A session led by Mary Wu, CEO of the Australian Chicken Meat Federation, and Brian Astridge from Turosi Food Solutions. The session received positive feedback, with 92% of attendees reporting they had gained valuable new insights and would recommend the webinar series to their peers.

The webinars provide a platform for industry professionals to stay informed and engaged, with the interaction and valuable contributions from participants highlighting the demand for ongoing industry connection.

Reflecting on the success of the series so far, Sarika Pandya, Manager of the Chicken Meat Program, shared, “The most rewarding aspect of hosting these webinars is the opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders who are truly passionate about sharing their expertise with the audience.

“It’s been fantastic to witness the high level of engagement and interest from attendees, which shows the value these sessions bring to the industry”.

Sarika added, “these webinars are designed to be accessible and informative for everyone in the chicken meat industry, from producers and researchers to policymakers and supply chain stakeholders.

“Each session offers a unique opportunity to learn from leading experts, stay informed about the latest research developments, and engage in discussions about the future of the industry”.
