This report is a compendium of the tree breeding strategies developed by the Australian Low Rainfall
Tree Improvement Group (ALRTIG). The group is supported by the Joint Venture Agroforestry
Program and the Natural Heritage Trust and is a collaborative undertaking involving researchers
from State agencies and CSIRO. ALRTIG aims at speeding the improvement process of tree
improvement by coordinating efforts across Australia.
