Q fever in people, known as coxiellosis in animals, is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria Coxiella burnetii.

Coxiella burnetii is zoonotic, which means it can spread to people from infected animals.

New research is helping dairy goat producers recognise the impact of coxiellosis in their herds and implement biosecurity practices to minimise risks.
