In recent years, there have been initiatives to investigate the potential for utilising both native and feral exotic animals in developing new industries. These projects have been mindful of environmental and ecological constraints and of State and Federal Government regulations.
This report is the result of a pre-feasibility study to examine the issues likely to impact on an attempt to farm European Brown Hare in Australia. Both technical and economic issues were investigated and discussed extensively with wildlife specialists, reproductive and genetic experts and animal behaviourists.
