Global Challenges RIRDC Completed Projects in 2010–2011 and Research in Progress at June 2011 contains short summaries of continuing projects as well as those that were completed during 2010–11. The Global Challenges Program aims to address emerging and current issues through R&D (including global competitiveness, market access and trade barriers, productivity and climate change) that will lead to a globally competitive Australian agricultural sector.
The research objectives for the Global Challenges Program are:

•  Food security
•  Climate change
•  Emerging rural issues.
