This Five Year Plan has been developed by RIRDC and industry stakeholders to outline the Rice Program’s research, development and extension (RD&E) goal and objectives until 2021/22. The key driver of future research direction emerging from the rice industry outlook, risk assessment and program review is the need for the rice industry to make major and immediate inroads into further improving water use efficiency. Dramatically improving water use efficiency delivers economic benefits for growers as well as environmental and social benefits for the Australian community.
The Five Year Plan was revised in May 2018.
