This project investigated the markets and prospects for six products that may be produced from low rainfall grown woody biomass. The products selected were: appearance grade timber, dry formed fibreboard, wood-plastic composites, electricity from woody biomass, alcohols – ethanol and methanol, and pyrolytic bio-oil. The report also reviews product use and processing and manufacturing technology, and estimates the planted resource required to service processing plants.
