This publication reports the results of laboratory tests for sawn timber quality, kraft and thermo mechanical pulp and paper, medium density fibre board and extractives contents of five conifer genotypes sampled from dryland plantations. The data are compared with results typical of existing radiata pine pulpwood resources from higher rainfall regions. The information should assist in the selection of species with the potential to produce an optimum mix of products for the markets in their region.
