Summary

The Australian Nuffield Farming Scholars Association provides a select group of young Australian farmers with Scholarships to travel internationally to expand their personal horizons while exploring agricultural issues and opportunities in a global context. It is focused on developing the practical, managerial and commercial capabilities of the Scholar to enable them to be better farmers and to make a significant contribution to the future of Australian agriculture.

The outcome of the project will be the successful completion of five Nuffield Farming Scholarships by practicing farmers, over five years. The beneficial results of this are a significant boost to the rice farming sector’s understanding of the international forces affecting the Australian rice industry and the need to adopt new technology and management practices to continue to maintain productivity growth.
