Objective Summary

The study aims to build on technical work completed during 2003 and 2004 to aid State road transport jurisdictions in developing consistent hay and straw bale loading rules. The purpose of this review is to confirm that present loading patterns meet theregulatory Performance Based Standards (PBS) as well as achieving industry best practice for road transport efficiency. This study will address the effects of load dimensions and mass on both vehicle stability and road width requirements.
