Summary

The main function of Rice Quality V is to perform the Quality Evaluation Program (QEP). The QEP measures the physical and cooking attributes of the breeding lines developed in the Rice Improvement Program. The QEP has evolved throughout the previous Rice Grain Quality projects funded by RIRDC. The procedures involved with QEP are documented as part of the Quality Management System, and these documents are routinely used as a reference.

Objective Summary

The primary objective of Rice Quality V is to (a) support the rice breeding team by performing the routine Quality Evaluation in a timely manner. The research aims of Rice Quality V are to (b) continue to improve the efficiency, accuracy, scope and cost of the Quality Evaluation Program, and (c) continue to conduct research that compliments and feeds into the Quality Evaluation Program.
