AgriFutures Australia seeks a qualified service provider or strategic consortium to deliver a comprehensive research and design project related to the project “Enhancing Emissions Knowledge for AgriFutures Australia’s Levied Industries and Optimising Resource Utilisation Across Commodities”.
Submissions close 12 noon AEST Friday, 27 June 2025.
Background
Background
The CFOP is designed to build producer awareness, understanding and uptake of carbon farming and emissions reduction practices. As expectations around sustainability grow across supply chains, markets and policy frameworks, enabling producers to confidently engage in carbon and emissions management is critical to maintaining the competitiveness and resilience of Australian agriculture.
Despite growing activity across government, research and industry, producers often face a fragmented and inconsistent information landscape, making it difficult to access practical, industry-specific resources that support informed decision-making. Addressing these gaps requires a coordinated approach to ensure producers across all sectors have the tools they need to participate effectively in emissions reduction initiatives and carbon markets.
As a successful grant recipient under the Carbon Farming Outreach Program (CFOP), AgriFutures Australia commissioning two independent key activities:
- Activity 1: Conduct a targeted gap analysis of emissions-related information for the Rice, Chicken Meat, Thoroughbred Horse and Export Fodder industries, identifying priority areas for resource development.
- Activity 2: Lead a cross-sectoral project to assess and recommend the most effective formats and delivery methods for long-term carbon and emissions information management across Australian agriculture.
These activities are separate and not interdependent. They may be delivered concurrently and by the same provider(s), but neither activity is designed to inform, rely upon, or build upon the other. Each has distinct objectives, methods and deliverables and must be treated as a standalone body of work.
Together, these activities will support the broader aims of CFOP by contributing to a more consistent and accessible carbon and emissions information environment. However, each activity is to be completed independently, and findings from one are not to be used as input for the other.
