The AgriFutures Export Fodder Program is seeking a qualified provider to undertake a 1-year, multi-trial site oat agronomy project. This project will evaluate the implications of oat variety and management strategies on oat hay production. Potentially, this 1-year trial will be the first stage of a multi-year oat agronomy investment.

Background
The AgriFutures Export Fodder Program is seeking a qualified service provider to undertake a 1-year, multi-trial site oat agronomy project. This project will evaluate the implications of oat variety and management strategies on oat hay production. Potentially, this 1-year trial will be the first stage of a multi-year oat agronomy investment.
We ask the service provider to consider a range of different oat varieties and potential management strategies including varying sowing dates, and other inputs. The innovative management strategy or strategies will test new or relatively untested practices that show potential to improve hay yield and/or hay quality.
The budget to undertake this work is between $100,000.00 and $150,000.00
Interested parties must complete a detailed application via the K2 project management system. Applications must include:
- A detailed budget
- A detailed methodology, including a GANNT chart of key project delivery milestones.
- A plain English summary of the proposed outcomes and impact to the Australian Export Fodder industry
- Detailed stakeholder engagement planning
- A background summary of the proposed team to deliver the outcomes

Submitting an application
Applications for this Request for Quote must be submitted online using the application in K2.
Respondent’s will be expected to provide:
- A detailed project plan – including timelines, how the project will be conducted and how this will meet the requirements of the RFQ, including clear take home messages for industry.
- A detailed budget – attachments may be included.
- Examples of similar work the respondent has completed.
- Capability and relevant experience.
- Suggested members of a steering committee for the project, noting that AgriFutures will nominate 3 members to the steering committee of the successful project.
The resultant Contract is expected to commence in April 2025, ready for the growing season.

Terms of reference
AgriFutures Australia uses standard form contracts and agreements for projects and research procured by AgriFutures Australia. These contracts and agreements set out the terms on which AgriFutures Australia will engage successful applicants to carry out the project.
Applicants must be familiar with the contracts and agreements before submitting a response, and are advised to seek legal advice beforehand.
These contracts and agreements have been developed to reflect AgriFutures Australia’s statutory and other procurement responsibilities.
If you require any amendments to the standard agreement please complete the statement of non-compliance for each of the relevant clause. AgriFutures will then assess those requests.
Applicants will be taken to have agreed to all clauses in the Service Provider Agreement that are not referred to in a statement of non-compliance. The extent of any non-compliance will be a factor in AgriFutures Australia’s evaluation of the application.

We ask that trial locations are located within export fodder production areas, they do not need to be spread across multiple states. The trials may both be located within the same state.
