AgriFutures Australia is seeking an individuals or organisation to develop, manage, and facilitate a process to create a 5-year research program aimed at enhancing, strengthening, and expanding the Australian Coffee industry. This initiative is part of the AgriFutures Australia Emerging Industries Program.

Background
To maximise value and industry engagement, the Emerging Industries Program intends to invest in a 5-year Program of Research (PoR) to benefit the Australian coffee industry. The facilitator will be responsible for developing and managing the process to establish this PoR, ensuring it aligns with the industry’s RD&E priorities as outlined in its strategic plan.
The main objective of the facilitator role is to develop, manage, and facilitate a process to bring together industry stakeholders, i.e., the formation of a consortium including Theme leads led by an MRO, with the purpose of developing a full research proposal ready for implementation by May 2025.
Service requirements
The requirements for this project include, but are not limited to, the following
- Review industry information: Examine relevant industry documents, including the RD&E Plan and AgriFutures Australia Research and Innovation Strategic Plan 2022-2027.
- Engage stakeholders: Understand industry needs, current research projects, and capabilities to ensure alignment with industry priorities.
- Facilitate workshop: Organize and conduct a face-to-face workshop in Brisbane on March 17-18, 2025, including a Monitoring and Evaluation session.
- Assess EOIs: Evaluate Expressions of Interest from industry and research organizations.
- Develop scoping document: Create a five-year Program of Research (por) scoping document.
- Collaborate on FRP: Work with industry, theme leads, and the MRO to develop the full research proposal (FRP), including virtual workshops for feedback.
- Draft and review FRP: Support the drafting and review of the FRP to ensure alignment with industry plans and obtain endorsement before submission.

AgriFutures Australia uses standard form contracts and agreements for projects and research procured by AgriFutures Australia. These contracts and agreements set out the terms on which AgriFutures Australia will engage successful applicants to carry out the project.
Applicants must be familiar with the contracts and agreements before submitting a response and are advised to seek legal advice beforehand.
These contracts and agreements have been developed to reflect AgriFutures Australia’s statutory and other procurement responsibilities.
If you require any amendments to the standard agreement, please complete the statement of non-compliance for each of the relevant clause. AgriFutures will then assess those requests.
Applicants will be taken to have agreed to all clauses in the Research Agreement that are not referred to in a statement of non-compliance. The extent of any non-compliance will be a factor in AgriFutures Australia’s evaluation of the application.
