The Agriculture Work Placement Navigator has been developed as guidance for students and parents to understand the steps involved in Agricultural placements in work experience programs, school delivered VET courses, and Certificate II in Primary Industries or Rural Operations (and other vocational training programs relevant to the agriculture sector).

Recognising that one of the major barriers to work placement is the lack of awareness about what it entails, this guide provides targeted and specialised information about exploring the worlds of agriculture work. This comprehensive guide (‘Navigator’) will cater to students about to embark on an agricultural work placement or experience. It will provide an overview of what to expect when engaging in work placements in the agriculture sector, complementing existing school-based work placement materials, policies, and procedures. Please note that working with children check requirements vary state to state, and your school has all the up-to-date information regarding requirements about child safety while on work placements. These Navigators offer a step-by-step process across the five phases of work placement, along with agricultural-specific tips, tricks, and insights to enhance the work placement experience.
