Q fever is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria Coxiella burnetii. While many people do not become sick or only suffer a mild illness from Q fever, for others it causes a prolonged, serious, and debilitating illness.
New research has examined the environmental spread of the bacteria that causes Q fever in people, providing new insight to guide land-use planning and sampling.
