French Lavender oil has been produced from a commercial plantation at Bridestowe Estate near Lilydale in Northern Tasmania since 1922.
The study was undertaken to facilitate the expansion of the industry through the selection of clones that will lead to the production of lavender oil that meets all of the chemical criteria associated with lavender as defined by the International Standards Organisation (ISO).
The findings in this report will provide value broadly across the Australian Lavender Industry, and more particularly to Essential Oils of Tasmania, the growers involved in the Natural Plant Extracts Cooperative and Bridestowe Estate.
