This report provides an overview of the Australian pasture seed industry. In particular, the study focuses upon lucerne, medic, clover and sub-clover seed production. An extensive comparative analysis of the costs of production is undertaken, the role of environmental regulation is discussed and future research priorities for the industry are identified.
This study was based on a detailed literature review as well as a survey of forty pasture seed producers across New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
