Much has to be learnt on farming emus efficiently in the production of meat, oil and leather. Increased productivity and profitability will partially rely on the introduction of innovation in management and husbandry. Reproduction systems which exist in the wild will need to be adopted and in part replaced by new technologies which fit into the farming environment. Increased knowledge of the biology of the emu is the foundation upon which to build new technologies for commercial application.
