Red bayberry is an important commercial horticultural crop grown in a small area of China, centred on Zhejiang province which has climate conditions similar to certain horticultural production areas in Australia, suggesting that red bayberry could be developed as a commercial crop in Australia. This publication examines the literature of red bayberry and the production areas, producers, processors and researchers in Zhejiang. The final activity included a reciprocal visit by Chinese collaborators, for assessment of likely Australian production areas.
