Assesses the potential suitability of small diameter waste wood from mallee eucalypt and melaleuca trees for the manufacture of wood-cement composites firstly by measuring the compatibility of the wood with cement and secondly by manufacturing test composites of various types. A principle objective was to demonstrate that good quality cement-bonded boards can be manufactured from eucalypt wood including mallee and blue gum using relatively simple manufacturing techniques. It is hoped that the results will generate further interest in wood-cement composites as building materials suited to the Australian environment. 2004, pp, Pub. No. 04/102; $16
