Objective Summary

i. Provide a strategic overview of the role and value generated from pastures to the Australian dairy industry with a focus on the key drivers for the use of pastures, the segments into which pastures can be classified ( i.e. grazing, irrigated, forage, fodder etc) and the economic impact of pastures on the dairy industry.

ii. Undertake a strategic review of the RIRDC Project PRJ-002286: Gap analysis and implementation program for research in the Australian fodder industry Report, identifying the implications and opportunities in relation to the future role of RIRDC in consolidating the various pasture industry sectors within the proposed restructure of Pastures Australia.

iii. Provide an overview of the proposed Dairy Futures CRC identifying the potential linkages and synergies which may exist with RIRDC and pastures Australia.
