  • Project start date: Sunday, May 15, 2022

  • Project completion date: Monday, May 15, 2023

  • National Priority: AFI - AgriFood Innovation

Summary

This project will support producers on their Agtech journey by removing risks associated with identifying the correct IoT sensor networks and associated sensors for improving management decision-making. It will allow producers to see first-hand how farm-scale internet access can be used to improve decision making and reduce production costs. There is an overwhelming amount of information about new technology, which creates uncertainty and adds additional expense to the producer. The project would allow producers to see 1sthand how these technologies can be implemented and bring benefit to their enterprises.

Objective Summary

The expectation is that the activity will allow our grower network of over 500 growers to establish a bank of knowledge and see RRAPL as a source of information to develop their Agtech journey further. This will assist early adopters to make better decisions on suitable IoT farm-scale technologies and progressively introduce these technologies to a large producer base with greater knowledge and information sharing, improving all growers’ ability to move into the IoT world.
