Development of Fence Posts made from Hempcrete

Summary

This project will design, test and optimise fence posts made from hempcrete. Unlike timber posts that typically need to be replaced every five to ten years, hempcrete posts will last indefinitely, withstand fire, store carbon and save on material and labour costs. The development of a new hemp commodity will support expansion of the area of land devoted to hemp cultivation and establish new market opportunities for hemp farmers. Further, ultimately utilising Australia-grown hemp will enable the displacement of international imports of hempcrete blocks.
