Objective Summary

To identify two genes related to hygienic behaviour at the level of their sequence. To produce a diagnostic test so that individuals carrying the allele that confers hygienic behaviour can be identified without field testing. To develop general procedures for the identification of economically important behavioural genes for the honeybee and protocols for their exploitation by industry.
