Summary

This project is an extension of PRJ-000042 using remaining funds. This project seeks to determine an appropriate methods for stunning buffalo, as buffalo are less susceptible to mushroom-head stunning equipment than cattle.

Objective Summary

To obtain expert advice on potential options for suitable methods for effective stunning of buffalo at abattoirs both in Australia and overseas. This will include what would be an acceptable Halal method that could be trialled that would satisfy ESCAS and in-country requirements.
