Summary

This project will deliver robust capability and capacity in water management for Australian rice growers. In the next 10 years the BIGGEST threat to the Australian rice industry is the availability of water . This project seeks to develop tools and technologies that focus on firstly measuring rice water use across multiple scales on-farm and secondly investing in options for maximising profitability to growers through improved water use management and strategies on farm, utilising novel technologies and approaches.
The project is a collaborative effort between Deakin University, Sunrice, Rice Extension and Sunrice Grower Services and Agronomy.
