Objective Summary
1. To encourage expansion of the hazelnut industry in Australia by demonstrating a sustainable hazelnut production in different climatic regions.
2. Provide resources to support existing and new hazelnut growers to achieve productive and profitable yields.
To achieve these objectives we will conduct work that will generate an understanding of the parameters of hazelnut production in Australia and how these vary regionally on different soils and with different varieties, including nutrition, water and pest/disease/weed management. The project will produce resources to inform and guide existing and new hazelnut growers on productive farm management strategies and economic potential.
