Summary
The project will form part of a wider multidisciplinary collaborative study between Australia and Ireland, which will investigate the multifactorial demands placed on jockeys. The study is designed to evaluate the physiological, cognitive, health and lifestyle characteristics of jockeys.

Objective Summary
The project has a number of key objectives which include:
1-Analysis of the critical multifactorial demands involved in flat horse racing, trackwork and barrier trials.
2-An increased awareness as to the critical demands of being a jockey within that practitioner who are involved in jockey well-being.
3-Improvement in the overall quality care of jockey well-being
4-increased self sufficiency of practitioners located in remote areas
5-A standardization of management of Jockey medical care on a nationwide basis.
6- Development and updating of a web based resource for medical practitioners who are involved in the treatment and care of jockeys.
