Objective Summary
To develop and transfer to the industry molecular techniques for monitoring blood samples for the presence of Marek’s disease virus; To use a panel of simple cost-effective molecular diagnostic techniques to describe the effects of various management strategies on Marek’s infection; To develop and validate quantitative assays for Marek’s disease viral DNA based on real-time PCR; To assemble a comprehensive collection of DNA for Australian wild type Marek’s disease viruses.
