Objective Summary
The Facilitator would focus on integrating cross-sectoral R&D efforts to achieve the following objectives:
1. Ensuring that research needs are effectively communicated and translated between practice and research investment.
2. Enhancing the development and promotion of sustainable best management practices for FAW applicable to a variety of crops, growing conditions, and regions.
The goal is to communicate R&D efforts that address broader management strategies applicable across multiple industries, rather than concentrating solely on specific chemical interventions. The Facilitator will promote the development of integrated solutions, information sharing, and identification of knowledge gaps and technological needs. This approach may include area-wide management, cultural control options, integrated pest management solutions, and various preventative and preparedness strategies to manage FAW populations effectively across different sectors.
