Summary

The National Seaweed Industry Blueprint outlined the opportunity to achieve a $100M by 2025 and the RDE plan to get there. This project will advance the implementation of the critical path RDE priorities identified in the Blueprint. There are six streams of work under the project:
1. Blueprint Engagement
2. Blueprint Delivery Plan
3. National Hatchery Network (NHN) – Concept Design
4. National Seaweed Industry Group Establishment
5. Cluster Planning Framework
6. Space Planning and Policy Audit – Seaweed Ocean Aquaculture

Objective summary

To progress implementation of the National Seaweed Industry Blueprint RDE plan to support industry to achieve $100M GVP by 2025. There are six streams of work identified with the following supporting objectives:
– A well communicated Blueprint document with an increased number of key stakeholders that are supportive of success of industry development.
– Funding for industry development secured.
– A detailed delivery approach for the RDE plan.
– Design of a National Hatchery Network that will enable rapid industry development.
– An established industry leadership group and organisation with responsibility for leading advocacy and Blueprint implementation.
– Cluster planning framework defined and ready to go to EOI for development of cluster plans for key areas.
– A clear plan for ocean lease availability and identified policy changes required for achievement of 2025 & 2040 targets.
